Maintenance Mechanic
We are looking for a skilled individual to become a member of the Maintenance Department, supporting all facets of our pet food manufacturing facility. This position reports to the Plant Maintenance Manager and will be a key contributor to the successful operation of the facility. Work assignments will be in all areas of the facility, inside and out. Candidate needs to be able to work with minimal or no supervision and to work using ladders, scaffolds, and lifts.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide technical support on controls instrumentation, AC/DC drives/motors, and PLC microprocessor hardware and software.
- Support plant boiler operations as necessary, including working with the various plant systems utilizing steam.
- Safely troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues as they arise. Primary emphasis and experience with 480v, 3 phase industrial equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks.
- Support daily operations of all plant equipment.
- Complete emergency repairs of plant equipment as needed, both mechanical and electrical.
- Plan, lead, and direct as needed, crews assigned for unique or other projects.
- Provide input to effectively plan for and purchase parts and supplies to maintain equipment.
- Work safely and productively, individually and in a team environment.
- Work overtime as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED. Technical college diploma or certificate is a plus.
- Manufacturing: 1 year (Required)
- 3-Phase: 5 years (Required)
Preferred Skills
- Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Mechanical ability and previous experience in a manufacturing environment are a plus.
- PLC experience is a plus.
- Experience with 480v, 3 phase industrial equipment.
- Welding and metal fabrication experience is a plus.
- Salary is dependent on experience.
